Emmie was so excited to participate in the "Animal Rescue" camp through the Boces program. She spent a week long (June 13th-18th) volunteering and learning at the Red Desert Humane Society. Em and her friend Madi were assigned a 7 year old pit bull named Sarge who Emmie grew to love so very much. We had to discuss with her prior to the camp that we would not be taking any more pets into our home. haha. She got to participate in an adoption day at the end of the week. Unfortunately Sarge wasn't adopted but the ladies from the humane society assured her that they would keep Sarge because they too knew how sweet and lovable he was. The kids even did a bake sale to earn money for the humane society.
