Concrete
So we have had a huge patch of dirt in our backyard underneath the kids' playland. We debated whether to put in sand, wood chips, or those rubber pieces. Finally we decided to move the playland and pour a big slab of concrete and make a partial basketball court. Here are the pics from start to ALMOST finish. We are waiting a few more days to put the hoop together, we want to make sure the concrete is completely dry. Anyway, it has been a lot of work digging it out, framing it, leveling it out and of course laying the cement. Luckily Rob came over and helped and brought his friend who has done concrete work for 16 years (he even brought all his tools, which saved us lots of money). The kids thought it was AWESOME having a huge cement truck pull right into our back yard (there's a pic of them looking out the window). It looks great and I am sooooo glad to not have anymore dirt back there. The kids, including my biggest kid (Trav) can hardly wait to start shooting some hoops.
