Theran Turned The BIG 8

This birthday was a very special one for Theran.  He turned 8 years old and was baptized and confirmed July 6th.  His birthday actually landed on a Saturday (June 15th) so he really had his heart set on being baptized on THAT day (since both Emmie and Kayla were baptized on their bdays) but unfortunately it just didn't work out so he patiently waited a couple weeks.  Seeing my handsome little guy all dressed up in his white shirt and tie sure brought a glimpse of a future missionary to my eyes!  Gma Debbie gave a wonderful talk on baptism and explained it like climbing up a ladder.  Sometimes we fall but we can have faith, repent, be baptized or take the sacrament and we can keep on climbing up those steps and eventually after enduring to the end, reach our loving Heavenly Father once again.  Gpa Darrell gave the talk on the Holy Ghost and of course it too was wonderful.  He talked to Theran about when they went camping and decided to go for a night hike using their flashlights and headlamps to guide them.  He asked Theran what would happen if they were to shut off their lights, T responded with get lost which is exactly how my dad described the Holy Ghost.  When we make good choices we have him with us to help guide the way.  He also told a story about when I was a little girl and we were staying at my grandma Alders house.  I woke in the middle of the night and still half asleep walked into the closet instead of out the main door to the living room.  Crying and very frightened I called for my dad until he came to rescue me.  Again he explained how sometimes times become dark, we make wrong choices and lose our way but we can always use the guidance of the Holy Ghost and repentance to find our way through.  Another very heart wrenching moment was when Trav gave Theran the gift of the Holy Ghost.  It was the most amazing blessing given from the Lord through Trav.  The spirit was so strong and I cannot express how grateful I am that my husband is a worthy priesthood holder.  He truly is the glue in our family!  An all around amazing day spent with wonderful family and friends!
